Dr. Peggy Honore is committed to a life of service. As the newly appointed president of the New Orleans Musicians Assistance Foundation, her healthcare background and her personal background, growing up in the musically rich Treme neighborhood, qualified her as a perfect fit to helm this beneficial service organization. Although Peggy says she is not musically inclined herself, she values the musical experiences that were a constant in her upbringing. “Growing up in Treme certainly influenced my love of music,” she explained. “I hope my work with the New Orleans Musicians Assistance Foundation can make a difference in the lives of our musicians and culture bearers,” said Peggy.
Peggy took on her role as president of the NOMAF in early 2024, immediately applying skills that she has mastered over a storied career in the medical field. She has extensive research in the areas of health.
